The Messiah from the Scriptures of the World's Religions

The scriptures of many religions speak of a coming leader who will consummate the fulfillment of the divine will on earth. He will manifest in his person the righteousness and compassion of God, and he will bring about the final defeat of evil, and establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. The Hebrew title Messiah--'Christ' in Greek means "anointed one," that person who will be specially chosen by God for this mission and empowered to accomplish it. But while the term Messiah is specific to only a few religions, prophecies that a leader will come and accomplish such a mission are nearly universal. Religions call him by various names: Jews long for the promised Messiah; for Christians the Messiah is Jesus of Nazareth, who has already come and ascended to heaven but will reappear (perhaps in a new guise) at his Second Coming. Muslims also expect the second advent of Jesus, who will come as a Muslim Imam, and among Shiite Muslims there are various expectations of a future Imam Mahdi. Buddhist sutras prophesy the coming of the Maitreya Buddha; Vaishnavite Hindu scriptures prophesy the future descent of an avatar named Kalki; Zoroastrian scriptures prophesy the coming of the Saoshyant; and some Confucian texts speak of a future True Man who will finally bring peace to the world by perfectly instituting the Way of Confucius. Various prophecies of these future redeemers are gathered, by religion, in this section.

• Christianity. Revelation 22.20:
  "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
• Judaism and Christianity. Isaiah 9.6-7:
  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called "Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness, from this time forth and for ever more. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
• Judaism and Christianity. Daniel 7.13-14: I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man. He came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominon and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away. And his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.
• Christianity. Matthew 24.29-31:
  Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken; then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory; and he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
• Christianity. Revelation 19.11-16:
  Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name inscribed which no one knows but himself. He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, followed him on white horses. From his mouth issues a sharp sword with which to smite the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron; he will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed, King of kings and Lord of lords.
• Judaism. Talmud, Sanhedrin 98a:
  Rabbi Joshua ben Levi met Elijah at the mouth of the cave of Rabbi Simeon ben Yohai. He asked Elijah, "When will the Messiah come?" Elijah replied, "Go and ask him." "But where is he?" "At the gates of Rome." "And how shall I recognize him?" "He sits among the wretched who are suffering from sores; all the others uncover all their wounds, and then bind them all up again, but he uncovers and binds up each one separately, for he thinks, 'Lest I should be summoned and be detained." Then Rabbi Joshua found him and said to him, "Peace be with you, my Master and Rabbi." The Messiah replied, "Peace be with you, son of Levi." He said, "When is the Master coming?" He replied, "Today." Then Rabbi Joshua returned to Elijah, who said, "What did he say to you?" He replied, "Peace be with you, son of Levi." Elijah said, "Then he assured to you and your father a place in the world to come." The rabbi said, "He spoke falsely to me, for he said he would come today, and he has not come." Then Elijah said, "He meant 'today, if you hearken to His voice!" [Psalm 95.7]
• Judaism. Midrash, Pesikta Rabbati 162b-63a:
  In the time to come... the Patriarchs will say, "Ephraim, our righteous Messiah, though we are your ancestors, you are greater than we. For you have borne the sins of our children, and you have borne heavy punishments, such as neither the former nor the latter generations have endured, and you became the laughter and the mocking of all the nations for Israel's sake, and you sat in darkness, and your eyes saw no light. And your skin shrank upon your bones, and your body withered like a tree, and your eyes grew dark from fasting, and your strength dried up like a potsherd, and all this befell you because of the sins of our children. Is it your will that your children should enjoy the felicity which God has destined to give them in abundance? Perhaps because of the pains which you have endured in overflowing measure for their sakes, and because thou hast lain fettered in prison, your mind is not at rest because of them?" Messiah will reply, "Patriarchs, all that I have done, I have done only for your sakes and for your children, and for your honor and theirs, so that they may enjoy the felicity which God has destined for them in abundance." Then they reply, "May your mind be appeased, for you have appeased the mind of your Creator and our mind."
• Islam. Qur'an 43.61:
  And [Jesus] shall be a Sign of the Hour [of Judgment]; therefore have no doubt about it, but follow Me: this is a straight way.
• Islam. Hadith of Muslim:
  The Messenger of Allah observed, "What will be your state when the Son of Mary descends amongst you, and there will be an Imam amongst you? What would you do when the son of Mary would descend and lead you?"
• Islam. Hadith of Abu Dawud:
  The Apostle of Allah said, "Were there remaining but one day of the duration of all time, God would send forth a man from the people of my house, who will fill the earth with equity as it has been filled with oppression."
• Islam (Shiite). Nahjul Balagha, Khutba 141, 187:
  The Imam who will create a world state will make the ruling nations pay for their crimes against society. He will bring succor to humanity. He will take out the hidden wealth from the breast of the earth and will distribute it equitably amongst the needy deserving. He will teach you simple living and high thinking. He will make you understand that virtue is a state of character which is always a mean between the two extremes, and which is based upon equity and justice. He will revive the teaching of the Holy Qur'an and the traditions of the Holy Prophet after the world has ignored them as dead letters....He will protect and defend himself with resources of science and supreme knowledge. His control over these resources will be complete. He will know how supreme they are and how carefully they will have to be used. His mind will be free from desires of bringing harm and injury to humanity. Such a knowledge to him will be like the property which was wrongly possessed by others and for which he was waiting for the permission to repossess and use. He, in the beginning, will be like a poor stranger unknown and uncared for, and Islam then will be in the hopeless and helpless plight of an exhausted camel who has laid down its head and is wagging its tail. With such a start he will establish an empire of God in this world. He will be the final demonstration and proof of God's merciful wish to acquaint man with the right ways of life.
• Zoroastrianism. Avesta, Farvardin Yast 13.129:
  He shall be the victorious Benefactor (Saoshyant) by name and World-renovator [Astavat-ereta] by name. He is Benefactor because he will benefit the entire physical world; he is World-renovator because he will establish the physical living existence indestructible. He will oppose the evil of the progeny of the biped and withstand the enmity produced by the faithful.
• 13. Hinduism. Bhagavad Gita 4.7-8:
  Whenever the Law declines and the purpose of life is forgotten, I manifest myself on earth. I am born in every age to protect the good, to destroy evil, and to reestablish the Law.
• 14. Hinduism. Vishnu Purana 4.24:
  When the practices taught by the Vedas and the institutes of law shall nearly have ceased, and the close of the Kali age shall be nigh, a portion of that divine being who exists of his own spiritual nature in the character of Brahma, and who is the beginning and the end, and who comprehends all things, shall descend upon the earth. He will be born as Kalki in the family of an eminent Brahmin of Sambhala village, endowed with the eight superhuman faculties. By his irresistible might he will destroy all the barbarians and thieves, and all whose minds are devoted to iniquity. He will then reestablish righteousness upon earth; and the minds of those who live at the end of the Kali age shall be awakened, and shall be as pellucid as crystal. The men who are thus changed by virtue of that peculiar time shall be as the seeds of human beings, and shall give birth to a race who shall follow the laws of the Krita age, the Age of Purity. As it is said, "When the sun and moon, and the luner asterism Tishya, and the planet Jupiter, are in one mansion, the Krita age shall return."
• Buddhism. Anagata-vamsa:
  Thus have I heard: At one time the Buddha was staying near Kapilavatthu in the Banyan monastery on the bank of the river Rohani. Then the venerable Sariputta questioned the Lord about the future Conquerer, The Hero that shall follow you, The Buddha -- of what sort will he be? I want to hear of him in full. Let the Visioned One describe him. When he heard the elder's speech the Lord spoke thus, I will tell you, Sariputta; listen to my speech. In this auspicious aeon Three leaders there have been: Kakusandha, Konagamana, and the leader Kassapa too. I am now the perfect Buddha; and there will be Maitreya too before this same auspicious aeon runs to the end of its years.
• 16. Buddhism. Digha Nikaya iii.76, Chakkavatti Sihanada Suttanta:
  In those days, brethren, there will arise in the world an Exalted One named Metteya. He will be an Arahant, Fully Awakened, abounding in wisdom and goodness, happy, with knowledge of the worlds, unsurpassed as a guide to mortals willing to be led, a teacher for gods and men, an Exalted One, a Buddha, even as I am now. He, by himself, will thoroughly know and see, as it were face to face, this universe, with its worlds of the spirits, its Brahm-as and its M-aras, and its world of recluses and brahmins, of princes and peoples, even as I now, by myself, thoroughly know and see them. The Law, lovely in its origin, lovely in its progress, lovely in its consummation, will he proclaim, both in the spirit and in the letter; the higher life will he make known, in all its fulness and in all its purity, even as I do now. He will be accompanied by a congregation of some thousands of brethren, even as I am now accompanied by a congregation of some hundreds of brethren.
• Buddhism. Sutra of the Great Accomplishment of the Maitreya:
  Listen attentively with one heart. A man whose spirit shines brightly, a man whose mind is completely unified, a man whose virtue excels everyone -- such a man will truly appear in this world. When he preaches precious laws, all the people will totally be satisfied as if the thirsty drink sweet drops of rain from heaven. And each and every one will attain the path of liberation from struggles.
• Sekai Kyusei Kyo. Inori-no-Shu:
  Miroku, the Great God, comes forth, endowed with the great strength of the three in one--Fire, Water, Earth. Miroku, the Great God, from of old has planted heaven upon earth. Miroku, the Great God, even as comes a thief, has secretly been born below. Leaving behind the highly exalted throne to bring salvation, Miroku has been born below.
• Confucianism. Analects 13.12:
  Confucius said, "If a Kingly Man were to arise, within a single generation Goodness would prevail."
• Confucianism. Doctrine of the Mean 31-32:
  It is only the man with the most perfect divine moral nature who is able to combine in himself quickness of apprehension, intelligence and understanding--qualities necessary for the exercise of command, magnanimity, generosity, benignity, and gentleness--qualities necessary for the exercise of patience, originality, energy, strength of character, and determination--qualities necessary for the exercise of endurance, piety, noble seriousness, order, and regularity--qualities necessary for the exercise of dignity, grace, method, subtlety, and penetration--qualities necessary for the exercise of critical judgment. Thus all-embracing and vast is the nature of such a man. Profound it is and inexhaustible, like a living spring of water, ever running out with life and vitality. All-embracing and vast, it is like Heaven. Profound and inexhaustible, it is like the abyss. As soon as such a man shall make his appearance in the world, all people will reverence him. Whatever he says, all people will believe it. Whatever he does, all people will be pleased with it. Thus his fame and name will spread and fill all the civilized world, extending even to savage countries, wherever ships and carriages reach, wherever the labor and enterprise of man penetrate, wherever the heavens overshadow and the earth sustain, wherever the sun and moon shine, wherever frost and dew fall. All who have life and breath will honor and love him. Therefore we may say, "He is the equal of God." It is only he in this world, who has realized his absolute self, that can order and adjust the great relations of human society, fix the fundamental principles of morality, and understand the laws of growth and reproduction of the universe. Now, where does such a man derive his power and knowledge, except from himself? How simple and self-contained his true manhood! How unfathomable the depth of his mind! How infinitely grand and vast the moral height of his nature! Who can understand such a nature except he who is gifted with the most perfect intelligence and endowed with the highest divine qualities of character, and who has reached in his moral development the level of the gods?
• Baha'i Faith. Tablets of Baha'u'llah Revealed after the Kitab-i-Aqdas, 231-32:
  O peoples of the earth! By the righteousness of God! Whatever you have been promised in the Books of your Lord, the Ruler of the Day of Return has appeared and been made manifest. Beware lest the changes and chances of the world hold you back from Him Who is the Sovereign Truth.

Descendants of Adam and Eve: Abraham, the twelve Patriarchs of the twelve Tribes of Israel 

Abraham means "father of many nations".  God changed his name to Abraham from Abram, by adding the 5th letter of the Hebrew alphabet (#5 in Biblical numerics means: "Grace of God").  God also changed Abraham's wife Sarai's name to Sarah by the same manner.  It was from this Abraham, through Isaac and Jacob that would be born the 12 Patriarchs who would father the 12 tribes of Israel.  Of these 12 tribes, 10 would migrate north over the Caucasus Mountains (where we get our word 'Caucasian' from) and settle Europe, eventually moving on to inhabit the Americas.  It was through the lineage of two of these tribes (Judah & Levi) which the  Messiah Jesus Christ would be born of (on His mother's side, God being His Father).  And through Jesus Christ all nations and ethnic peoples could find salvation and everlasting life.  Incidentally, Adam & Eve were the great ancestors of this same Abraham, this is why in {Gen 3:20} Eve is called (and her name means in the Hebrew tongue) "The mother of all living".  Not because all people were her blood descendants, they are not, but because through her progeny Jesus Christ, all could find everlasting life. Thus: "Mother of all living.  See:  {Gen 3:20, Gen 17:1-9, Gen 49:1-28 (for the 12 tribes)}.

Alternative lifestyles, Homosexuality, and Lesbianism

Its against God's law, even though satan's false teachers/preachers whom have infiltrated God's Ministries say it's a-okay.  And no this is not an attempt to 'gay bash' anyone;  Not anymore than we would 'adulterer bash' anyone.  We do not have the power nor the right to judge anyone.  But they also do not have the power nor the right to say that sin is not sin.

But like any sin you commit, God can forgive you of it through the Blood of Christ, if you ask and believe upon Him.  Honest and heartfelt prayer to our heavenly Father will help you overcome those urges, just as with any self destructive demonic urges like adultery, alcoholism, drug addiction....

And NO God did not make gay people that way!  Just as with any addiction or perversion you will only be in bondage to it as long as you don't stand up and resist it.  Satan's false teachers/preachers tell you that it's okay and that God made you that way because they want you to continue in the sin.  God does not honor satan's lies, and these men speak with no authority from God, even though they say they are men of God and dress like them.  We are no more born gay than we are born adulterers or thieves, it's all about choice and obedience.  If you enjoy being 'different' and disobedient, satan then moves into your heart with all manner of perversion.  If you ask God to help you do the right thing and live according to His Word He will!!  And He knows none of us is perfect, He only wants us to try.  See:  {Lev 18:22, Lev 20:13, Rom 1:26-27, 1^st Tim 1:8-11, 1^st Cor 6:9-11}.

Types, Examples, and Ensamples

In the Bible, God uses "types", which are ensamples or examples. When things are mentioned in the Bible, most times they are examples of things to come in the future. "There is no new thing under the sun" means that everything that happened before, will happen again, in a slightly different form.  And God will not let you go through more than you can bear!  See: {Psm 105, 1^st Corr 10:1-13, Eccl 1:9-11}

Soul, Spirit and body. Where do we go when we die?

Upon death, we bury the body, but the soul goes immediately back to the Father who gave it. We have a flesh body and a spiritual body, but only one soul.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Our deceased loved ones are not in a hole in the ground, they are with our Father (God) in Heaven. Where is Heaven? Heaven is simply wherever God is.  See: {Mt 10:28, 1^st Thes 4:13+14, 2^nd Corr 5:6-11, 1^st Corr 15:44}.

The four Hidden Dynasties that will precede and usher in satan as the antichrist.

        The four hidden dynasties are global tools used by satan in the end times to usher him in as the antichrist imitating the true Christ. They are the coming one world system of the Political, educational, financial, and religious unity. You can see them being put in place now, if you look. They are also referred to as the 'four horns', and they are integral parts of the 1st beast of [Rev 13:1-10] that is ultimately controlled by the second beast of [Rev 13:11-18]. This second beast is satan as the antichrist.  See: Dan 7:3 & Zech 1:18-21.

The Two Great Floods in God's Word

There are two destructions by flood in God's Word. The second was Noah's flood [Gen 7:4-24], but there was a prior complete flood that destroyed everything and every one, this is what destroyed the 1st earth age, it is called the 'Katabole' in the Greek.  God promised that He would never destroy the world by water again [Gen 9:15].

A Chronology of the Life, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of our Messiah, Jesus The Christ. Praise be to God for Him:

• Conceived: Dec 25, 5 BC [1st Tebeth by Hebrew reckoning] (not born on 25 December as commonly held). 
• Born: End of September, probably on: Sep 29, 4 BC. [15th Ethanim (Tisri) by Hebrew reckoning]. 
• Circumcised: Eight days later as Jewish custom dictated. 
• Baptized: AD 26 (exact date unknown but most likely significant). 
• Death By Crucifixion: April 3, AD 29 [14th Nisan by Hebrew reckoning]. 
• Resurrection: April 7, AD 29 [18th Nisan by Hebrew reckoning] (3½ days in tomb). 
• Ascension: May 13, AD 29. 
• Pentecost: May 23, AD 29.

In the Bible, who Are The People Of The House Of Israel, the House Of Judah, The Jews, And The Kenites?

The difference between the peoples of Israel, Judah, the Jews, and the Kenites (the sons of Cain, the first murderer):

First of all, when studying Biblical history and prophecy, you mustn't confuse the House of Israel with the House of Judah.  When you see the 'House of Israel' written of in the scriptures, it refers to the Ten Northern Tribes of Israel (now referred to as the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel).  But when you see the 'House of Judah' spoken of, it refers to the Southern Kingdom consisting of peoples of the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin.

Originally, when the Houses were still joined together, there were twelve Tribes.  These Twelve Tribes became split into two Houses, one called the Northern Kingdom with it's Capitol at Sumaria, and the other called the Southern Kingdom with it's Capitol at Jerusalem.  To this very day they are split, with the Ten Northern tribes having lost all knowledge of their identity, as was prophesied of to happen in Scripture:

Rom 11:25
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. (KJV)

But what ever became of Israel (the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel)?  After a three years siege and the final fall of Samaria with it's becoming of an Assyrian Province in 611 BC (722 BC by profane history), Israel ceased to be and dropped out of history.

But Israel (the Ten Lost Tribes) were never lost to God, they migrated North over the Caucasus Mountains (where we get our word 'Caucasian' from) and settled Europe, eventually populating Scotland, Ireland, Britain, Iceland, and ultimately crossing westward over the seas and established the Americas.

Yes we are the descendants of the lost Northern Ten Tribes of Israel.  We are the chosen people of God.  Look around the world, who is the last light of hope in the world?  That does not mean that we are Jewish, for as you see by the division of the original 12 tribes descended from Jacob; Judah is only one of those tribes.  As of Sep 18, 2000, there are only 13 million Jews on the planet (as per www.adherents.com), that is less than 1% of the total global population which is 6,099,686,302 (6 billion plus) as of 4:04 EDT Oct 1, 2000 per Popclock.  But in God's covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob He promised:

You do believe God don't you?  Well then, where are all these people now?!?  Those that we now call 'Jews' today are only a portion of the true Tribe of Judah who have intermixed with their Babylonian captors, the heathen and profane descendants of Cain, the first murderer.  In other words, all those of the tribe of Judah are not Jews, and none of the lost Ten Tribes are Jews.  It is important to understand the differences so that you know who the Bible is speaking about in a particular verse.

That is why in the New Testament, those who betrayed Christ and forced Pontius Pilot's hand into crucifying Jesus Christ were the High Jewish Priest Ca'-ia-phas and the Jewish Temple Hierarchy.  They were corrupted both in morals and genealogy, and this explains why Jesus called them 'sons of Cain,' the son of the devil {Jn 8:44} whom was the first murderer in the Garden of Eden.  Cain was not of the 12 tribes of Jacob (Israel and Judah combined), but his offspring, the Kenites, which means sons (offspring, no gender implied) of Cain, had intermixed with some of the true Tribe of Judah.  These Kenites have mixed with all races and tribes of people on the earth.   A Kenite is a descendant of Cain, the same Cain who was the first murderer in the Garden of Eden. Kenite: Hebrew word #7017 Qeyniy (kay-nee'); or Qiyniy (1st Chron. 2:55) (kee-nee'); patronymic from Hebrew word #7014 (see below); a Kenite or member of the tribe of Kajin:

Cain: Hebrew word #7014 Qayin: As a proper noun, masculine: Cain = "possession"; the oldest son of Adam and Eve and the first murderer, having murdered his brother Abel.

THE STATEHOOD OF ISRAEL
"End-time Prophecy Fulfilled"

The generation of the Fig Tree is the final generation before the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. Below is the prophecy of Israel once again becoming a Nation. This became a reality on May 14, 1948; it had not happened since Christ's time:

JEREMIAH CHAPTER 24

Jer 24:1-10
1 The LORD shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
3 Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
4 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.
6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
7 And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
9 And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.
10 And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers. (KJV)

Below, Jesus is speaking of the final generation, the Generation of the Fig Tree:

Luke 21:29-36
29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. (KJV) 

In the final verses in the Scripture above, Jesus speaks of the great tribulation that shall come upon the earth before the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

The first tribulation is the tribulation of the antichrist coming first to this world, before Jesus, claiming to be the true Messiah. Jesus tells us that the deception of the end times (first tribulation) will be so powerfull that nothing will ever again be so terribly awesome, nor has anything ever in the history of creation been so formidable a danger to the eternal soul:

Matt 24:21-36
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.  (KJV)

In the Scripture below, we see God foretelling that the children of Israel shall be returned to their own land which they had been driven from:

Jer 16:9-15
9 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
11 Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
12 And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
13 Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
15 But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. (KJV)

On May 14, 1948 the Generation of the Fig Tree began, with Israel once again becoming a Nation. To this very day, Jews are flowing back into Israel from around the world. Below is their Declaration of Statehood and the fulfillment of Prophecy, drawn-up in 1948:

THE DECLARATION OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL May 14, 1948

On May 14, 1948, on the day in which the British Mandate over a Palestine expired, the Jewish People's Council gathered at the Tel Aviv Museum, and approved the following proclamation, declaring the establishment of the State of Israel. The new state was recognized that night at 11:00 AM Israel time by the United States and three days later by the USSR.

Text:

ERETZ-ISRAEL [(Hebrew) - the Land of Israel, Palestine] was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped. Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of Books.

After being forcibly exiled from their land, the people kept faith with it throughout their Dispersion and never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration in it of their political freedom.

Impelled by this historic and traditional attachment, Jews strove in every successive generation to re-establish themselves in their ancient homeland. In recent decades they returned in their masses. Pioneers, ma'pilim [(Hebrew) - immigrants coming to Eretz-Israel in defiance of restrictive legislation] and defenders, they made deserts bloom, revived the Hebrew language, built villages and towns, and created a thriving community controlling its own economy and culture, loving peace but knowing how to defend itself, bringing the blessings of progress to all the country's inhabitants, and aspiring towards independent nationhood.

In the year 5657 (1897), at the summons of the spiritual father of the Jewish State, Theodore Herzl, the First Zionist Congress convened and proclaimed the right of the Jewish people to national rebirth in its own country.

This right was recognized in the Balfour Declaration of the 2nd November, 1917, and re-affirmed in the Mandate of the League of Nations which, in particular, gave international sanction to the historic connection between the Jewish people and Eretz-Israel and to the right of the Jewish people to rebuild its National Home.

The catastrophe which recently befell the Jewish people - the massacre of millions of Jews in Europe - was another clear demonstration of the urgency of solving the problem of its homelessness by re-establishing in Eretz-Israel the Jewish State, which would open the gates of the homeland wide to every Jew and confer upon the Jewish people the status of a fully privileged member of the commity of nations.

Survivors of the Nazi holocaust in Europe, as well as Jews from other parts of the world, continued to migrate to Eretz-Israel, undaunted by difficulties, restrictions and dangers, and never ceased to assert their right to a life of dignity, freedom and honest toil in their national homeland.

In the Second World War, the Jewish community of this country contributed its full share to the struggle of the freedom- and peace-loving nations against the forces of Nazi wickedness and, by the blood of its soldiers and its war effort, gained the right to be reckoned among the peoples who founded the United Nations.

On the 29th November, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the establishment of a Jewish State in Eretz-Israel; the General Assembly required the inhabitants of Eretz-Israel to take such steps as were necessary on their part for the implementation of that resolution. This recognition by the United Nations of the right of the Jewish people to establish their State is irrevocable.

This right is the natural right of the Jewish people to be masters of their own fate, like all other nations, in their own sovereign State.

ACCORDINGLY WE, MEMBERS OF THE PEOPLE'S COUNCIL, REPRESENTATIVES OF THE JEWISH COMMUNITY OF ERETZ-ISRAEL AND OF THE ZIONIST MOVEMENT, ARE HERE ASSEMBLED ON THE DAY OF THE TERMINATION OF THE BRITISH MANDATE OVER ERETZ-ISRAEL AND, BY VIRTUE OF OUR NATURAL AND HISTORIC RIGHT AND ON THE STRENGTH OF THE RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY, HEREBY DECLARE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A JEWISH STATE IN ERETZ-ISRAEL, TO BE KNOWN AS THE STATE OF ISRAEL.

WE DECLARE that, with effect from the moment of the termination of the Mandate being tonight, the eve of Sabbath, the 6th Iyar, 5708 (15th May, 1948), until the establishment of the elected, regular authorities of the State in accordance with the Constitution which shall be adopted by the Elected Constituent Assembly not later than the 1st October 1948, the People's Council shall act as a Provisional Council of State, and its executive organ, the People's Administration, shall be the Provisional Government of the Jewish State, to be called "Israel".

THE STATE OF ISRAEL will be open for Jewish immigration and for the Ingathering of the Exiles; it will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

THE STATE OF ISRAEL is prepared to cooperate with the agencies and representatives of the United Nations in implementing the resolution of the General Assembly of the 29th November, 1947, and will take steps to bring about the economic union of the whole of Eretz-Israel.

WE APPEAL to the United Nations to assist the Jewish people in the building-up of its State and to receive the State of Israel into the comity of nations.

WE APPEAL - in the very midst of the onslaught launched against us now for months - to the Arab inhabitants of the State of Israel to preserve peace and participate in the upbuilding of the State on the basis of full and equal citizenship and due representation in all its provisional and permanent institutions.

WE EXTEND our hand to all neighbouring states and their peoples in an offer of peace and good neighbourliness, and appeal to them to establish bonds of cooperation and mutual help with the sovereign Jewish people settled in its own land. The State of Israel is prepared to do its share in a common effort for the advancement of the entire Middle East.

WE APPEAL to the Jewish people throughout the Diaspora to rally round the Jews of Eretz-Israel in the tasks of immigration and upbuilding and to stand by them in the great struggle for the realization of the age-old dream - the redemption of Israel.

PLACING OUR TRUST IN THE ALMIGHTY, WE AFFIX OUR SIGNATURES TO THIS PROCLAMATION AT THIS SESSION OF THE PROVISIONAL COUNCIL OF STATE, ON THE SOIL OF THE HOMELAND, IN THE CITY OF TEL-AVIV, ON THIS SABBATH EVE, THE 5TH DAY OF IYAR, 5708 (14TH MAY,1948).

The Stone Of Scone (Jacob's Pillar)

This study covers The Stone of Scone, by other names: The Coronation Stone, or Jacobs Pillar. This Stone was Jacob's Pillow the night he saw the Angels of God ascending and descending up and down 'Jacob's Ladder' in approximately 1759 B.C. [Gen 28:10-22]. This Stone was carried by the ten lost tribes of Israel as they migrated north over the Caucasus Mountains and into Europe settling it and eventually establishing the Americas. The Stone has been recently moved back to Scotland after 800 years. In A.D. 1296 the Stone was placed in Westminster Abbey, England, and has remained under the Coronation Chair till recently. Since then, every King of England has been Crowned while sitting over the Stone. Three times the kingdom would overturn, and then no more [Ezek 21:27], and since the Coronations happen over the Stone, then the Stone is the thing to follow. There is end time Biblical prophecy attached to the 'turning over of the Kingdom' and many believe this Stone (Jacob's pillar) figures into the prophecy. In the prophetical book of Ezekiel we read:

Ezek 21:26-27
26 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.
27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him. (KJV)

Three times the kingdom would overturn, and then no more. (By the way, it doesn't say that the Stone of Destiny would only be moved three times. It has had many resting places in its history) But since the Coronations happen over the Stone, then the Stone is the thing to follow.

Until recent months, the Stone, after three overturnings of kingdoms, laid cradled in the lower portion of the St. Edward's Chair (the British Coronation Chair) where it had rested for nearly 800 years. Today, it is in Scottish possession by decree of the Queen of England with the stipulation that it will be returned for the Coronation ceremony of the next Monarch.

 "The Stone, weighing over 300 pounds, is rectangular being about 26" in length; 16" in width; and, 10.5" in depth. Across its surface runs a crack and some chisel-marks are still visible on one or two sides. There are two large iron rings (or some rust resistant alloy), one at each end of the Stone which hang loosely from eyes, made of similar metal let into the Stone."

NOTE: In the Scottish National Library there is a Gaelic manuscript (by Dugald the Scot, son of McPhail, in A.D. 1467) containing the complete genealogies of the Scottish Kings, showing their descent through the Irish Kings by way of Judah, Jacob and Isaac back to Abraham. In Windsor Castle there is also a genealogical table showing the descent of the British kings from David through the Irish and Scottish lines. A Brief History of the Coronation Stone

IRELAND

" The Chronicles of Scotland , Hector Boece (translated into Scottish by John Bellenden, 1531) tells us -- Gathelus, the ancestor of the Scots who came to Egypt when "in this tyme rang [reigned] in Egypt Pharo ye scurge of ye pepill of Israel" was given Scota to wife (Scota was the daughter of a Pharoah). "Lang tyme he landit in ane part of Spayne callit Lusitan" (later called Portugal). After this, he built the city of Brigance and "callit his subdittis [subjects] Scottis in honour and affeccioun of his wyiff." With peace, Gathelus "sittand in his chayr of merbel within his citie."

[By the way, the name Scots is the same as the Hebrew word, Succoth and carries the meaning Wanderers. Scotland means Land of the Wanderers. But we're getting ahead of the story.]

"Ancient Irish records, when referencing an "Eastern king's daugther", also mention an old man, a partriarch and prophet called "Ollam Fodhla" (Hebrew words that mean "revealer" or "prophet") and his scribe "Simon Brug, Brach, Breack, Barech, Berach" according to various spellings. Reportedly, they carried with them many ancient relics. Among these were a harp, an ark or chest, and a stone called, in Gaelic, Lia-Fail, meaning Stone of Destiny.

"The Annals of the Kingdom of Ireland, by the Four Masters speaks of Tea Tephi who married Eochaidh, the son of Scoti in Spain and requested "a choice hill as her dower in whatever place she should select it, that she might be buried therein. She chose the Hill Druimcaein, i.e., Teamhair [in Ireland]."

[And did you know, Ireland is a derivative of an earlier name - Iverland, or Iverain. New Iverain was once a colony settled by the Militians from Spain, on the Iberian Peninsula. Iber is the same as the ancient Hebrew forefather Eber from whence comes the family - Hebrews! Well, enough of getting side-tracked. I've checked out too many old, spine-crackling books from the Oviatt Library at California State University - Northridge. Too many books that, until I came along, had not been opened except years earliers when the University was formerly named San Fernando Valley State College. I hope you go check it out! But let's get back to the story.]

"In the Chronicles of Eri, by Milner, we find Eochaidh, the husband of Tea Tephi, associated with the Stone Lia-Fail. The account is titled, The Story of Lia Fail, and states: 'In the early days it was carried about by priests on the march in the wilderness [hence the much-worn rings still attached to it, one at each end]. Later it was borne by the sea from East to West - "to the extremity of the world of the sun's going" [an expression used by the Romans to describe Britain].'

"There are many other variations of the story of the Stone being brought from Egypt to Ireland, which when added together present us with a rather confused story.... each of these, written in a tongue difficult to translate, gives its own aspect of the one great story. However, they all agreed in the following: The Stone, known as the Stone of Destiny, came from Spain, and before that, from Egypt. It came in the company of an aged guardian, who was called "Ollam Folla", Eochaidh (Eremhon) with his Queen Tea Tephi was crowned King of Ireland upon the Stone which remained at the Palace of Team-hair Breagh. It was the Coronation Stone of every "Ard-Righ" (High King) of "Eireann" for a period of about 1040 years.

"Archaeological excavations on the mounds at Tara have also revealed that ancient Tara was not only the Royal Seat or Capital of the Celtic Kings, that came from Spain, but it was also the nerve center of the country. Five great artries or roads radiated from Tara to the various parts of the country. Bards and Epic Poems extoll the beauty and grandeur of Tara.

"The great Ollam Fodhla and the Daughter of Royalty were buried at Tara Hill." Jacob's pillar (p 30-35)

 
SCOTLAND

"About A.D. 500 some imigrants led by Fergus Mor McErc (the Great), from the Irish Gaelic Kingdom of Dalriada, invaded the Western coasts of Scotland, the land of the Picts. After invading Scotland and returning home victorious, the Scots confirmed the Kingdom to him and his posterity by an oath. Fergus desired that he be crowned upon the Stone.

"Andrew of Wyntown (1400A.D.) in his ancient Chronykil of Scotland, gives the following account of the Stone of Destiny: 'A gret stane this kying then had - That fore this kynyes gete war made - And haldyne were a gret Jowal - Wyhthin the kynrky of Spayne hale - This kyng bad this Simon ta - That stane and in-tye ga, - A wny that land and occupy - And halde that stane perpetually.... - As every ne rechn and man may see - Broucht this stane wytht-in Scotland...

"For a time Dalriada appears to have been dependent upon Irish Dalriada, but about 575 A.D. Aidan (son of Gabran, king of Dalriada) secured its independence and was crowned King of Scotland upon the Stone Lia Fail. For this occasion, the Stone was taken to Iona (a tiny island of the Inner Hebrides), Scotland by St. Columba, the missionary grandson of Fergus the Great. Iona is where Columba founded his first Scottish monastery. It was famous as a center of Celtic Christianity from where missionaries were dispatched for the conversion of the pagan tribes in Scotland and Northern England.

"Aidan was crowned King of Scotland in a coronation rite that has been used ever since by the succeeding monarchs of Scotland and England.... On Iona, the Stone Lia Fail continued to be used as the Coronation Stone of the Dalriadic kings until its removal to Dunstaffnage, on the mainland of Scotland just east of Iona... Tradition has it that the Clan Mac Dougall was made custodian of the Stone at Dunstaffnage till its removal to Scone, Scotland.

"In 843 A.D., Kenneth Mac Alpin was crowned on the Stone Lia Fail as the first King of the United Kingdom of the Picts and the Scots. One of his first acts as King was to found a church at Scone (near Perth, Scotland) because it was there that he had gained his principal victory over the Picts.

"King Kenneth II (d.995 A.D.) had the Stone placed on a wooden pedestal in front of the high altar of the Abbey of Scone.... The ancient Abbey of Scone was destroyed in 1559 A.D. at the time of the Reformation. Today... on Moot Hill stands a stone chapel, marking the place where the Stone of Destiny had rested and where the kings of Scotland presided over their Parliaments until Edward I of England removed the Stone to Westminster Abbey in 1296 A.D." ENGLAND

"John Harding, the English rhyming chronicler who wrote before A.D. 1465, says of Edward's removal of the Stone: "And as he came home by Skoon away,.. The regal there of Scotland than he brought,.. And sent it forthe to Westmynstre for ay,.. To ben ther ynnne a chayer clenly wrought,.. For masse prestes to sitte yn whan hem ought, .. Whiche yit it there stondyng besides the shryne,.. In a chayer of olde tyme made ful fyne".

"British, Scotch and Irish records of the Stone of Destiny locate it at Tara, Ireland in circa 500 B.C., from where it was transported to Scotland in circa A.D. 498 by Fergus the Great. From there it was taken to Iona circa A.D. 563; then to Bunstaffnage from where it was removed to Scone, near Perth, Scotland. Finally it was moved, by Edward I, to Westminster Abbey, London in A.D.1296. Thus, from Tara to Westminster, covering over 1800 years of history, it was never carried to any appreciable extent. The mere removal from these places could not account for the wearing away of the Stone that was evidently caused by the friction of a pole used in constant carrying."Jacob's pillar (p 55-59) This Stone was carried by the ten lost tribes of Israel as they migrated north over the Caucasus Mountains and into Europe settling it and eventually establishing the Americas.

And as we stated earlier: Until recent months (1999), the Stone, after three overturnings of kingdoms, laid cradled in the lower portion of the St. Edward's Chair (the British Coronation Chair) where it had rested for nearly 800 years. Today, it is in Scottish possession by decree of the Queen with the stipulation that it will be returned for the Coronation ceremony of the next Monarch.

Is the Muslim Allah of the Koran the same entity
as the Christian Lord God of the Bible?

It is said by many that since the Muslims pray to Allah whom they refer to as the 'only one true God' that they are in essence praying to the same entity that Christians pray to. Christians pray to the Lord God and refer to Him as the only one true God. Those who state this claim that all the strife over who is God is a silly question, for they assert that aside from doctrinal issues, both Muslims and Christians serve a common God, the only one true God, different names and different religions, but the same one true God.

To this we emphatically say: "Wrong, wrong, wrong!" And this is very dangerous talk for a Christian to listen to, for thoughts like that will feed them into the one-world religious system that is the first beast of Revelation chapter thirteen. When Christians jointly accept a god that is both in favor of the Messiah Jesus Christ and in favor of the false prophet Mohammed, it is a short leap for Muslims and Christians alike to unite under the worship of the antichrist (false christ) when he comes to this world stating that he is the Messiah from God. Antichrist is not the Messiah from God, he is the false messiah from satan, for he is satan. First let's do a little background research on the origins of the Muslim faith, and since this is a Christian Website, it should not be necessary to outline here the origins of Christianity.

According to Muslim tradition: In approximately A.D. 600, in the desert plain of Mecca, the prophet Mohammed received Devine revelation from Allah that the Christian faith was now, after six-hundred years, null-and-void. And according to the Muslims, this Allah told that Mohammed that Jesus Christ was not the only begotten Son of God, Savior to the world, but was at best a prophet from among the Jewish people. Muslims deny that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, they disavow that Jesus died on the cross, resurrected on the third day to make a way for the forgiveness of mens sins, and is seated at the right hand of God in Heaven.

Simply stated: The Muslims worship Allah, Allah did not have a Son named Jesus Christ begotten him by the operation of the Holy Spirit upon Mary through the virgin birth. But Almighty God of the Christian Bible did have a Son named Jesus Christ who did fulfill all that was written of Him. Thus, Muslims worship a false god, the product of a delusional man in the desert, inspired by the unholy evil spirit of satan, some six-hundred years after Jesus Christ fulfilled Old Testament Prophecy by allowing Himself to be murdered on the cross for mankind. The Muslims holy book, the Koran, is nothing more than a cheap counterfeit of the Hebrew Old Testament. The black Muslim movement further corrupts even the false teachings of the mainstream Islamic religion, which itself does not even consider the black Muslim movement (Nation of Islam under Louis Farrakan) to be true Muslims.

These statements may sound offensive to some, certainly they are offensive to satan and the Muslims, but Christians are being compromised by over-tolerance into betraying the Lord God that created them. There is no room for compromise in the Bible on the issue of Jesus Christ, and when Christians sell out their Savior Jesus Christ and their Creator Almighty God, they sell their own souls - and as the Bible warns: There will be hell to pay! Do not allow yourself to be sucked into blaspheming your Heavenly Father and your Messiah Jesus Christ by compromising, here a little and there a little, until you finally find yourself worshiping not God, but the imposter antichrist; for it is no small thing that you would do, if you did that! Satan is slick and crafty, don't you be deceived into his camp.

What does the Bible say about people and religions who deny that Jesus Christ is the Anointed Messiah of Almighty God, the only begotten Son of God, Savior? What does the Bible say of those who do not believe these words of Jesus: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." [John 14:6]. Read the below Scriptures and learn of your enemy, for an enemy of your lord is an enemy of yours:

I Jn 4:1-4
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (KJV)

 

II Jn 1:7-11
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (KJV)

I Jn 2:18-29
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

Islam

Islam, One of the world's three great monotheistic religions, with Christianity and Judaism. Islam is the newest of the three and was founded by the prophet Muhammad (q.v.) in the 7th cent. AD. Muslims believe Muhammad was the last of the prophets (including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus) sent by Allah (God). They exult in their submission to and praise of Allah. The Islamic faith, which owes much to the earlier Judaic and Christian faiths, is based on the Koran (q.v.), the revelations of Allah to Muhammad; the Sunna, collections of sayings of Muhammad (compiled in the 9th cent.); and the principle of Ijma or consensus of the Muslims or Muslim scholars. The prophet Muhammad during his lifetime laid the foundations of the great Muslim theocratic state, the Caliphate (q.v.). After his death, the empire was rapidly expanded to include domains stretching from India, across the Mideast, and into North Africa and served to spread the Muslim faith throughout these regions. A dispute over the succession to the caliph (ruler of the Muslim theocracy) in the 7th cent. gave rise to the two main divisions in the Muslim world: the Sunni (orthodox) and Shi'ite sects (q.v.). Koran

Koran, (Qur'an) The sacred book of Islam. A compilation of the revelations received by Muhammad, it is one of the world's most influential books and the major unifying force in the Islamic religion. The authorized text was written down (c650) by Muhammad's secretary, Zaid ibn Thabit, by order of the caliph Uthman. Divided into 114 chapters (suras), the Koran sets forth religious doctrine and codes concerning conduct of the followers of Islam. Accepted as the word of God, the Koran is above doubt or criticism in the Islamic world.

Muhammad

Muhammad, (Mohammed) 570?-632. Arabian prophet and religious leader, founder of Islam (q.v.). The son of Abdallah, a merchant of Mecca, Muhammad was raised by his uncle after his father's early death. At the age of 24, Muhammad married Khadija, a prosperous widow many years his senior; of their children only one, Fatima, had children. Muhammad became a successful merchant in Mecca. However, he came to feel called upon by God to preach among the Arabian people, to dispel their ignorance and superstition, and to provide the Arab world with its own prophet. According to Islamic teaching, he was favored by a revelation from God through the angel Gabriel. At first Muhammad preached only to a small circle, including members of his family, Ali, his son-in-law, and Abu Bakr, his friend. He taught that there was one true God, and that key elements of the struggle toward God's mercy were fasting, almsgiving, and prayer. After several years he felt called upon to preach in public, but his exhortations against the pagan rituals practiced in Mecca made him many enemies. An attempt on his life was planned in 622 but Muhammad was warned and fled to Yathrib, later called Medina. This flight, known as the Hijira, traditionally marks the beginning of the Muslim era. At Medina, Muhammad found increased support and made many new converts. He continued to elaborate his teachings and accounts of his revelations, which formed the basis of the Koran (q.v.). However, the growing strength of Islam brought Muhammad into conflict with the Meccans. Muhammad's followers defeated a superior Meccan force at Badr (624) but were defeated at Uhud (625). The strength of Islam continued to rise, however, and in 630 Muhammad marched into Mecca leading 10,000 faithful. He spent his last years at Medina in the company of his several wives, among them his favorite, Aisha (Ayeshah), daughter of Abu Bakr. By his death virtually all of Arabia had come under the control of Islam and the theocratic state (see Caliphate) he had established.

How To Find The "Right" Church

          As you may have noticed on WBSG Website, along with solid Scripturally based Bible teaching we also point out the many apostasies and 'traditions of man' that have slipped into the churches of today. We do this not to undermine Christianity - God forbid! - But rather to exalt the good Bible teaching Churches that are often overshadowed and obscured by the super-denominations of today. For what does it avail anyone to learn a lie and remain ignorant to the truth? And how does one know a lie is a lie unless someone show them? For often times it is easier to believe the lie than the truth.

          It is in many of these highly organized and vastly funded mega-churches where we see the most corruption of God's Word. From the beginning of history man has never handled power well, it corrupts everything it touches, even those who are sworn to teach God's Word in the multi-billion dollar World Church Federations and religious systems. The average person seemingly only sees or has access to the churches with the biggest buildings, the most members, or the slickest Ad campaigns.

          However, on many of the side streets and back roads of America one may find good Bible-based Ministries that teach the Word of God as it is written, and do not concern themselves with all the 'traditions of man' that are undermining the true Word of God. These smaller Bible-based Ministries are few in parishioners, short on funds, and they lack the magnificent buildings; but they are great in the dedication to teaching God's Word as He had it to be written in His Holy Written Word - The Bible.

          If you have been lucky enough to have found one of them, thank God and support them in any way can, for sadly, in this age of ecumenism, multifaith-ism, and man-pleasing from the Pulpits; these Bible based Churches are a dying breed. And when they are finally gone - God help us all! For then we are truly at the mercy of the money changers in the House of God, are we not almost there now?

          We purpose that good Bible teaching is not a creative art, not some new 'doctrine,' not some new method of 'enlightenment,' nor certainly not some new 'path;' but rather, the true telling of an old story that never changes, and how it relates to each individual. It's the story of one man's family, from Adam to Jesus Christ and the lives and times of those who come in contact with them. It's the story hope and salvation, the plan of God for mankind - His beloved but oftimes disobedient children.

          It is in that spirit that we chose to let the words of the now long deceased and almost forgotten Scholar of all Biblical scholars, E.W. Bullinger, best light the way to finding a true Church of God in these tumultuous times. From the Biography of E. W. Bullinger we submit:

"You ask, Where you are to worship? We reply wherever God is glorified, Christ is exalted, God's Word is honored, the Holy Spirit's power is evidenced and man abased. Never go anywhere where you do not know more of God's Word than when you entered. Never be in any Body where you may be "turned out"; or have your name down where it may be scratched out. Be content with the membership which God has given you in the spiritual unity of the Body of Christ, from which no power in Earth or Hell can cut you off and be content that your name was written in the Lamb's "book of life" before the foundation of the world, and from which no power in Earth or Hell can ever take it out. Do nothing to imply that you do not hold these priceless privileges to be of infinite value; or that they can be added to in the slightest degree by any of man's corporate unities."          -- E.W. Bullinger (late 1890's)
